Nice to meet you.
I'm Shamel. For the past four years I have been building software for health companies, government offices, and banks. Lab management systems, correspondence and billing tools, a loyalty platform for a bank. Most of the time I work on the whole thing, from the database schema up to the last screen.
I care about code that is easy to read and interfaces that do what they say they will do. When I am not working I teach programming or volunteer with the Red Crescent. Both taught me more about talking to people than any project has.

I take on hard things
Upgrading React 16 to 19 across three breaking versions. Building an MCP server before many people had heard of one. I pick work that is a little beyond me and learn my way through it.

Work
Frontend Developer
Smart Software Solutions · Qatar- Built and maintained Angular applications for government, banking, and enterprise clients. These are systems people rely on every day, so security and compliance came first.
- Built the in-house Angular Core Libraries: dynamic form and grid builders, shared components, and helper tools built on RxJS, NgRx, and NGXS. Every team now builds on them.
- Delivered Maktoob, Active Directory, DMS Admin and DMS, Fatora Billing and Fatora Panel, the SIIB Loyalty System, and Reserva.
Programming Instructor
Merit Center for Engineering & Training
- Taught core programming topics to different student groups. Object oriented programming, coding standards, data structures, and the Flutter framework.
- Led one to three technical sessions a week and helped students get better at solving problems on their own.
Full-Stack Software Developer
Medicus.ai- Owned the technical direction and the daily engineering decisions for the Web Application team.
- Improved application performance by around 70% with a full frontend refactor. Lazy loaded routes and libraries, code split by component, smaller bundles, and faster render times.
- Cut the legacy build time by about 60% by rebuilding the build pipeline. Builds went from 24 minutes down to around 10.
- Upgraded a legacy React codebase from 16 to 19 and kept it shippable the whole way through.
- Built a PDF generation microservice, and a service documentation platform with a custom MCP server on top, so AI agents can query internal docs on their own.
- Took Smart Report, a lab management platform for health labs, from start to finish, and built the Smart Wellbeing frontend with the Express APIs behind it.

A marketing site for a trading and contracting company. The content sits in Strapi, so the team can update their own pages without asking a developer.

Loop Cafe
An internal system a cafe team uses to manage its menu. Staff add and edit items, update prices, and keep everything current from an admin dashboard. Caching on the Express API made pages load faster and took pressure off the database.

Talentro
A marketplace where clients post jobs and freelancers apply for them, with real time chat, job recommendations, and payments. The backend is split into Spring Boot services that find each other through Eureka and talk over RabbitMQ. Still the hardest thing I have built.
